Kensington CAPA Graduates

Uniform Policy

Students must be in full uniform every day prior to entering the school. The full uniform includes the maize oxford shirt with the school logo, black, straight leg, ankle length pants, a tie, black belt, black socks, and black shoes that tie.  No slip-on shoes of any kind will be accepted, including loafers and flats.  Girls may wear the black uniform knee-length skirt and can wear either black knee socks or black leotards. All students must also wear the uniform black and gold striped tie and a black belt.  Pants must be worn pulled up to the natural waist.  Oversized, dragging pants that fall below the natural waist are not permitted.  Pullover black sweaters or vests with the school logo are optional, however, no other outerwear will be permitted.

The long or short sleeve shirt, pants, tie, and optional sweater or vest must be purchased at Flynn & O’Hara.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Order forms are available in the main office.  Black socks, black belt, and black shoes that tie may be purchased elsewhere.  You may purchase the uniform by calling the stores, online at https://www.flynnohara.com,  or by going to Flynn & O’Hara stores.

Cell Phones/Electronic Devices

Cell phones, 2-way radios, scanners, beepers, video cameras, electronic games, radios, iPods, mp3 players, and other electronics are not permitted in school. Students using these items in school will face disciplinary action that may include suspension, detention and possible disciplinary transfer. The first time a student is caught with an electronic device, it will be confiscated and held until the last day of the school year.  A parent or guardian must pick up the item at the end of the year.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!  Please be advised that Kensington CAPA High School will not be liable for any item that has been confiscated by school police or administration that has been lost or stolen. The school will NOT pay to replace any lost or stolen items.

HOODIES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE WORN INSIDE OF THE SCHOOL BUILDING AT ANY TIME. IF YOU WEAR A HOODIE TO SCHOOL YOU MUST TAKE IT OFF BEFORE ENTERING THE SCAN/INTAKE AREA.

PANTS THAT DRAG BELOW THE WAIST ARE NOT PERMITTED.  PANTS SHOULD BE PULLED UP TO THE NATURAL WAIST AND BELTED.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Transpasses

Public transportation to school is available via SEPTA Bus Routes and the “El” train. Students who live 1.5 miles or more from the school will receive free transpasses to ride Septa.  A student’s eligibility for a free transpass is determined by the school district and not by the school.  Students must present their student ID to receive a transpass. These passes will be given out during the Advisory period on Fridays and Mondays only. Students who  are absent from school both days, must bring in a note from a parent, legal guardian, physician, or a legal authority, in order to receive a transpass.   In the event that school is not in session on a scheduled distribution day, transpasses will be distributed on the day prior to the scheduled day off.

Lost or stolen transpasses will be NOT BE REPLACED. The students will have to purchase a replacement transpass from SEPTA.
