To ensure academics through the arts is the focal point of your time here, we have shifted to a completely cell phone-free school. We understand the importance of safety while commuting to and from school, so we have partnered with YONDR, a company that provides students with locking cell phone pouches. Students will keep their cell phones in their possession; however, the phones will be locked in the pouch until the end of the school day. Phones will be unlocked at the end of the school day. In case of emergency, parents/guardians will be able to reach their student by calling the main office at 215-400-7400. YONDR bags are required and will be available to purchase for $30. If your child breaks their YONDR bag at any point during the school year, a replacement bag costs $30. Students who do not have a YONDR pouch will not be permitted to bring their phone inside the building.
- KCAPA has a no cell phone policy. Cell phones are not permitted unless they are in a Yondr Pouch. We will not hold cell phones or other prohibited electronic devices for students.
- One cell phone per pouch. No exceptions.
- EarBuds must go into the Yondr Pouch alongside the cell phone.
- Student cell phones must remain turned off and in the Yondr Pouch throughout the day. Failure to do so will result in a loss of the Yondr Pouch privilege.
- Yondr Pouches are available for purchase for $30 each. Students are also responsible for bringing their pouches to and from school daily. Loaner Yondr pouches are not available.
- Upon entry, each student’s Yondr pouch will be checked for tampering and confiscated if it is unable to close properly. No exceptions will be made. A replacement pouch will need to be purchased.
- Per School District of Philadelphia policy, other electronic devices (i.e., personal laptops, tablets, etc.) are not permitted.
- Kensington CAPA HS and the School District of Philadelphia are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged electronic devices.
