Career and Technical Education at KCAPA
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are specifically designed to cultivate future leaders in the dynamic communications industry. These rigorous programs provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to seamlessly transition into fulfilling careers or pursue advanced education upon graduation.
Students within the Communications Cluster gain invaluable real-world experience through a diverse range of engaging activities. This includes participation in prestigious film festivals, challenging design competitions, and invaluable networking opportunities with industry professionals. Students also benefit from exclusive access to industry tours, visits to local businesses, and invaluable mock interview experiences, providing them with the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in the professional world.
Furthermore, our program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience through internships with esteemed employers throughout Philadelphia during their junior and senior years.
To ensure comprehensive mastery, all students are required to develop proficiency in four core areas: Video Production, Graphic Design, Photography, and Web Design. This immersive program spans three years, commencing in the tenth grade, culminating in industry-recognized Adobe Certified Associate certifications in Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro upon successful program completion.
